I guess you are here because you want to know something about the studio. So, here goes.

How much? 30 bucks an hour flat including setup.  25 for 4 hour blocks. I give credit to trustworthy people.

How good? We have stuff on the radio probably every week for various people who have recorded here. I am a total gearslut - the kind of equipment in this place is usually in places that cost twice or 4x as much. I can make absolutely beautiful recordings. Take a listen to Jesse Thomas . Also, I've owned a lot of gear in my time, and I review it from time to time to help others make decisions about it. Take a look at our equipment. Also the studio is extremely quiet - you can hear someone rubbing their fingers together 40 feet away without difficulty.

Limitations? Of course... you can't get something for nothing. I only work nights and weekends except for very special clients in a hurry.  I have a day job.

Where is it? In the basement of what most people call a mansion in East Walnut Hills, Cincinnati. The house is 10,000 square feet, the studio is about 17x40, with three rooms adjoining for drums, guitars etc, which make the total usable space for music production about 1500 square feet.  Take a studio tour. Out of town bands can stay here but the rate goes up a bit.

Instruments? I played guitar in bars for 20 years so I have a great collection of  amps and guitars. Bring your own, or.. use mine. I also keep a DW Custom set in the drum room.  The brass is great, hand picked for studio use.  Most drummers chose to use it - but feel free to bring your own or mix and match.  This stuff is detailed in the equipment page.

How long do projects take? From one 2 hour session, to a year of sessions. It just depends on what you want to accomplish. A decent rule of thumb is one hour of studio time for every minute of finished material. Sometimes its double that, and sometimes half.

Will we record just anybody?  The clients we want are people who play out, who are serious about their music, and work at it. Your needs also have to fit my capabilities, for example, I don't have a great Piano. I can produce your sessions elsewhere and get Piano tracks, but there is not one here.

What basic services do we provide? Basically I'm a producer. Click on that if you want to know if you need a producer. I can hire studio musicians to do backing tracks, handle mastering (out of house), help chart and arrange your music for best presentation - or even find composers or publishers if you don't have material.

What Do We Do Best? Irish Music, Acoustic music, the mellower Blues Styles, Small Format Classical, Alternative Rock (and its Indie cousins).

What we don't do very well. Death Metal, Rap. (But we've done both, for labels).

How to get ready?  Check out  this.
