The Blue ravens are a hard workin' regional Blues band that's been playing out for 20 years or so at the best clubs in the area. Mainstay singer and leader Jeff Thomas plays in several Bands, and has a great reputation as a great artist with a good ear and a great spirit for music. He's been playing with Bass player Matt Neuman for 20 years. Drummer Tim Van Roekel was an LA studio pro in the 80's and toured the US several times with hair bands. Guitar Player Mike Fair is a Cincinnati Guitar Legend - frequently appearing as a guest on other Local records, and performing constantly.

The Band recorded here wanting to do a "live" record - no muss no fuss, no pitch correction. They wanted people to hear exactly what they do live. So.. we did that. The results were spectacular - likely because they play out so often. We did the entire thing in one session. I include, from that record, 2 songs. My favorite thing about these two tunes are the drum sounds we got. Tim knows how to hit 'em - and he was playing on a set he was very comfortable with.

This little tune was just the warm up jam. It sounded so good I just started recording while they were warming up.

Next is a slow Blues with Jeff singing

"My baby Caught the Train"

and Finally "Knockin on Heavan's Door" with Mike singing and playing through Mike Steven's recent experimental Amp - half Plexi, half Bassman, half horse.
