Alesis MEQ 230

This box is a starter eq ok for live work. Noisy, and willing to create phase distortion, prone to failure in several kinds of ways - but hell, its 31 bands stereo for almost free - and if you have a live situation not requiring hi fi like a monitor eq where 31 bands is handy, go for it. The signal lights are nice for signal path debugging, and it sounds relatively uncolored. Not bad - and you can but 'em for 50 bucks or so. Definitely beats any other 31 band stereo for that price.

The little plastic slider knobs break off if you blow at them, and I've known two different ones that developed an inexplicable hum.

Tedrank: *** Cheap, lotsa eq. Only sorta ready for prime time.
